About The Position

As the EHS Manager, you’ll be the driving force behind a safe, efficient, and empowered workplace. You will design, implement, and champion safety programs that protect our people and strengthen our operations. Your leadership will help shape a culture where safety, compliance, and continuous improvement are part of everyday life. You’ll also guide employees at every level through impactful training, ensure our policies and procedures stay sharp and up‑to‑date, and oversee the document control process to keep our organization aligned, compliant, and audit‑ready. This is a role for someone who thrives on influence, visibility, and making a measurable difference.

Requirements

  • Proven success in fast‑paced environments , balancing multiple priorities with confidence and clarity.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office , with the ability to create clear reports, presentations, and documentation.
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing processes and how safety integrates into daily operations.
  • Expertise in safety program management , regulatory compliance, and data‑driven reporting.
  • Exceptional communication skills , with the ability to train, influence, and engage individuals and large groups alike.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience required in Safety, Health & Environmental Sciences, Occupational Safety & Health, Industrial Hygiene, Risk Management, Human Resources, Training, or a closely related discipline.
  • 5+ years’ experience in a Safety/Environmental role, preferably within a manufacturing environment, demonstrating hands‑on leadership and regulatory expertise.
  • 1+ years’ experience designing, delivering, and managing employee training programs.
  • Proven experience with 6S/Lean implementation , with the ability to drive workplace organization, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to read reports and use computers.
  • Ability to communicate, write, type and operate office equipment.
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk and exert up to 35 pounds of force to move an object.
  • Ability to work in an environment with exposure to noise, dust, chemicals and varying temperatures.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) preferred; other recognized safety or health certifications are also valued.
  • Strong background in environmental safety preferred , with demonstrated experience supporting environmental compliance and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic safety initiatives that reduce risk, prevent injuries, and elevate overall plant performance.
  • Be a visible, positive force on the floor , inspiring a proactive and accountable safety culture.
  • Analyze and interpret safety data to uncover trends, drive decisions, and communicate insights to leadership.
  • Administer and continuously improve company safety programs , ensuring they meet the needs of a dynamic manufacturing environment.
  • Develop and maintain compliance programs aligned with federal, state, and local regulations, including OSHA and EPA standards.
  • Conduct thorough incident and near‑miss investigations , identifying root causes and driving corrective and preventive actions.
  • Perform regular facility audits and inspections , assessing equipment, processes, and work areas to identify hazards and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Design and deliver engaging safety and skills training for employees across all departments and experience levels.
  • Ensure timely completion of all training, documentation, and corrective actions , maintaining accuracy and accountability.
  • Stay ahead of regulatory changes related to hazardous materials, environmental requirements, and emerging safety standards.
  • Evaluate and recommend new safety technologies and equipment to enhance protection and efficiency.
  • Lead comprehensive plant safety audits and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain the company’s training curriculum , ensuring it supports operational excellence.
  • Manage training records , ensuring accuracy, accessibility, and compliance.
  • Champion Schlosser’s 6S program , promoting organization, efficiency, and workplace pride.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as needed , contributing to a high‑performance culture.
