About The Position

The EHS Co-op will support the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) team by assisting with inspections, compliance programs, risk assessments, and safety initiatives. This position provides hands-on experience in workplace safety, environmental compliance, and regulatory training development. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and eager to learn in a fast-paced manufacturing/operations environment.

Requirements

  • Must be enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited college.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Interest in regulatory compliance, safety, and environmental sustainability.

Nice To Haves

  • Pursuing a degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 1.5 years of remaining undergraduate studies.
  • Work at least 12 hours per week while school is in session.
  • Flexible work schedule to work around school schedule
  • Ability to flex up to 40 hours per week when school is not in session.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct Risk Assessments to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions (Primary).
  • Review and update Job Safety Analysis (JSA's) - (Primary)
  • Perform Environmental Daily, Weekly, and Monthly Inspections to ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain organization in the OSS Room, including marking, labeling, and managing drums according to waste streams.
  • Assist with updating and creating GHS labels for products.
  • Support the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) Program, including updating and maintaining SDS's.
  • Use Compliance Quest to document, track, and follow up on safety and environmental activities.
  • Provide support with Workers' Compensation case management, including tracking, reporting, and follow-up.
  • Assist in incident and injury investigations, documenting findings and helping to implement corrective actions.
  • Participate in the Safety Sign-Off Program, ensuring employees are properly trained and verified for specific tasks.
  • Contribute to the development of regulatory training, creating content and supporting training delivery.
