About The Position

We are seeking an Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Intern to support our mission of creating a healthy and safe environment for our employees and community. You will have exposure to the development and implementation of our safety and compliance programs across engineering labs, manufacturing spaces, and maritime testing operations. You will work cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and facilities teams to help maintain a safe workplace and support compliance with environmental and occupational safety regulations. This internship is ideal for students interested in advanced manufacturing environments and eager to make an impact in the defense tech industry.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Environmental Health and Safety, Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science and Management, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field
  • Interest in manufacturing, robotics, maritime systems, or defense technology environments
  • Basic knowledge of OSHA standards, hazard identification, and risk mitigation
  • Familiarity with hazardous materials management and environmental regulations
  • Experience with lab safety, manufacturing safety, field operations, or maritime safety practices
  • Experience with EHS reporting or compliance software
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced startup environment

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing and maintaining EHS policies, procedures, and training materials
  • Conduct workplace safety inspections and hazard assessments in labs, manufacturing, and test environments
  • Support incident reporting, root cause analysis, and corrective action tracking
  • Help maintain OSHA compliance documentation, safety data sheets (SDS), and chemical inventories
  • Assist with environmental compliance efforts, including waste management and hazardous material handling
  • Participate in risk assessments for maritime testing operations and field activities
  • Support the creation of safety training programs for employees and interns
  • Track and analyze EHS metrics and safety performance data
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure safe design and testing practices
  • Support initiatives including regulatory reports, inspections, information requests, internal audits, emergency drills, management system improvements, and program development and assessments
  • Develop regulatory requirement resources to provide stakeholder guidance
  • Perform research projects on programs and draft programming requirements
