Your Role: As an EHS Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with safety standards, conducting risk assessments, implementing risk reduction methods, and interacting with site management and personnel on EHS matters. You will provide EHS support directly to those departments and employees involved in the manufacturing and distribution of high purity solvents and solutions at our Norwood facility.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Science (Chemistry, Occupational Health and Safety, etc.) or Chemical Engineering
  • OR
  • High School Diploma or GED with 2+ years of EHS experience
  • Don/doff and wear PPE including emergency response equipment such as gloves, respirator, and protective clothing.
  • Walk and climb steps routinely.
  • Work in ambient temperature and humidity environments.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene or Environmental Engineering
  • Certified Safety Professional
  • Advanced knowledge of IH, Safety & Environmental regulations and standards (i.e., OSHA, EPA)
  • Experience performing public speaking to include meeting with and provide training for site personnel

Responsibilities

  • Conduct EHS-related training for employees as needed, ensuring their proficiency in handling hazardous materials safely.
  • Oversee and ensure the completion of necessary Risk Assessments by departmental personnel, promoting a proactive approach to risk management.
  • Identify and propose effective risk reduction methods, collaborating closely with site management for implementation of EHS standards and processes.
  • Regularly perform safety inspections and ensure departmental personnel are competent in conducting inspections, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Establish a strong working relationship with site management, supervision, and employees to address and resolve EHS-related matters efficiently.
  • Act as a key member of the EHS team and fulfill duties as delegated by EHS Manager or delegate.
  • Participate in site EHS committees and support site ISO systems.
