About The Position

Lead and coordinate occupational safety, health protection, and environmental programs within the production area. Proactively identify hazards and systemic issues, perform root-cause analysis, and drive effective corrective and preventive actions. Support COE-led EHS initiatives to achieve site and organizational objectives. Maintain high shop-floor EHS standards by deploying the elements of the EHS Framework and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and GE requirements. Manage EHS projects end-to-end—from planning and risk assessment through execution, verification of effectiveness, and sustainment.

Requirements

  • Education: MS/BS in Environmental Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or related field; or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience: 5 years of proven EHS experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment.
  • Skills & Competencies: Strong knowledge of occupational safety, health, and environmental management. Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to influence and engage at all organizational levels. Computer literacy and familiarity with EHS management systems.

Responsibilities

  • EHS Leadership & Culture Maintain strong shop-floor presence through routine walkthroughs and coaching. Model and reinforce GE Vernova Life-Saving Rules and desired safety behaviors. Drive a culture of safety by engaging employees and leaders at all levels.
  • Risk Management & Compliance Develop and maintain risk assessments; implement effective controls. Ensure compliance with EHS standards, including Management of Change (MoC). Keep programs, procedures, and documentation current and aligned with regulations.
  • Training & Communication Deliver and document EHS training on safety, environmental, and fire protection topics. Support supervisors with toolbox talks and lead safety meetings and Gemba walks.
  • Incident Prevention & Management Investigate incidents and near misses; perform root cause analysis and corrective actions. Manage regulatory reporting and ensure timely closure of actions.
  • Audits & Performance Conduct audits and inspections to improve compliance and performance. Prepare EHS reports, metrics, and presentations for leadership review.
  • Operational Safety Programs Oversee lifting operations, chemical and waste management, fire safety, and emergency preparedness. Provide EHS oversight for preventive maintenance and safety-critical equipment.
  • Projects & Continuous Improvement Support EHS aspects of new installations and commissioning. Lead EHS projects and drive improvements using Lean tools and methodologies.
  • Stakeholder & Systems Management Liaise with occupational health services and regulatory authorities. Manage EHS systems (e.g., Gensuite) and maintain accurate records.

Benefits

  • The base pay range for this position is $85,500.00 - 142,600.00 USD Annual.
  • This position is also eligible for a 10% performance bonus/variable incentive compensation/equity.
