About The Position

The Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Director will lead the development, implementation, and management of comprehensive EHS programs to ensure a safe and compliant work environment across all company operations. The role requires a strategic leader who can drive cultural change, promote proactive safety initiatives, and ensure all relevant regulations. Must be able to work in the Pelham AL Office

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in Environmental, Health, and Safety roles within industrial manufacturing and construction settings.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage employees at all levels.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • High level of integrity and ethical standards.
  • Proactive, detailed, and self-motivated with a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Must be physically able to perform work assigned.
  • Must be capable of performing the essential functions of the job

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated leadership experience, including managing EHS teams and initiatives.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing EHS programs that have led to measurable improvements in safety performance and compliance.
  • Professional certification such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or equivalent is highly desirable

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with OSHA, MSHA, EPA, FMCSA/DOT, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
  • Lead and review incident investigations to determine leading indicators and implement preventive measures.
  • Provide EHS training and education programs to employees at all levels.
  • Collaborate with management to integrate EHS considerations into operational decision-making.
  • Monitor and report on EHS performance metrics, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies and ensure timely reporting and communication.
  • Oversee emergency response planning and preparedness activities.
  • Foster a culture of safety and environmental stewardship throughout the organization
