About The Position

The Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Coordinator is responsible for supporting the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of EHS programs and initiatives to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This role plays a critical part in helping RS meet its health, safety, and environmental obligations and sustainability goals. The EHS Coordinator will support site safety teams, be a shared business partner, integrated within the facility, to provide on-site support. Requirements

  • One to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • OSHA 30 hours
  • Safety or Environmental Compliance including Chemical or Waste Management
  • Experience with PowerPoint, Excel, Word and EHS software

Responsibilities

  • Perform monthly reconciliation of Environmental, Health, Safety, and Sustainability (EHSS) data to support accurate performance reporting and KPI tracking.
  • Conduct routine safety observations, inspections, and assessments, documenting findings and ensuring timely follow-up on corrective actions.
  • Educate and coach employees on safety standards, expectations, and best practices to promote a strong safety culture.
  • Provide risk-based recommendation s and support implementation of solutions to improve workplace safety and reduce operational hazards.
  • Assist cross-functional teams in incident investigations, including root-cause analysis, trending, and development and closure of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Maintain and update documentation related to EHS programs, procedures, policies, permits, communications, and compliance records.
  • Assist with facilitating New Hire Safety Training and ongoing EHS training initiatives to ensure employee readiness and compliance.
  • Support emergency response planning, drills, preparedness activities, and spill prevention initiatives.
  • Participate in EHS audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify hazards, assess compliance, and recommend mitigation strategies.
