About The Position

POSITION OVERVIEW: The night shift EHS Coordinator will be responsible for following the direction of the EHS Manager in administering the EHS Program on a floor level. The EHS Coordinator will be the primary interface with floor personnel, and will work to ensure all EHS goals, and objectives are communicated properly. KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Strong organizational skills to manage multiple TAS facilities within the Houston Area to address site specific needs. Requires close collaboration with production leadership (day/night shift), as well as EHS coordinators across all shifts and all sites. Conduct daily shop walk throughs. Encourage Pro-Active Hazard Identification and Mitigation through ensuring employee participation in consistent Behavior Based Safety program including the use of observation cards, trend analysis, and The SAFE Way program. Work with Supervisors and Leads to develop effective JSA’s Stay abreast of existing and proposed laws, regulations, standards, and regulatory guidance (and proposed changes) to assess applicability, and advise EHS Manager on the implications, and makes suggestions to update the TAS EHS Program to ensure continued compliance. Under the direction of the EHS Manager, perform periodic EHS risk assessments, conduct regular safety inspections and audits, and recommend appropriate corrective action based on the results of these assessments at all TAS facilities and customer locations. Investigate and document work-related accidents, incidents, and near misses, and ensure corrective and preventive measures are implemented in a timely manner to prevent reoccurrence. Act on hazards and look for mitigation methods to deal with the discovered hazards Conduct Trainings when necessary Assist the EHS Manager and EHS Supervisor in incident management Conduct Safety Meetings Assist in EHS Report preparation Any other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • PC proficiency – must be versed in the use of basic Microsoft office tools – Excel, PowerPoint, Word
  • Ability to mentor and coach others on safety guidelines
  • Good command of the English language, both written and verbal is required
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Completion of the OSHA 511 Training or equivalent
  • Possess or have the ability attend more specific and specialized training as recommended by EHS Manager
  • At least 2 years Supervisory Experience in leading and coaching a team of employees
  • Experience in leading Safety Meetings
  • Ability to follow the direction of EHS Manager and EHS Supervisor
  • Experience with OSHA Standards CFR 1910 for the general industry.

  • Experience in recognizing and mitigating hazards in a shop and manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to make recommendations to improve overall EHS Program performance based on observations and experience from the floor.
