About The Position

Atlas Roofing Shingles and Underlayment is seeking an EHS Coordinator for Clinton, IA.

Requirements

  • 3+ years construction project EHS experience. First Aid Training is Preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of 29CFR1926 Construction Safety Regulations and 29CFR1910 General Industry Regulations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, SharePoint, Outlook, and database creation and management
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects at the same time and be able to respond quickly to changing priorities with a high degree of professionalism and integrity
  • Associate’s degree preferred / 3+ years construction project EHS experience
  • The Construction EHS Coordinator must be capable of working long hours in conditions where heat and cold are normal and acceptable conditions on a construction site
  • Must be willing to work in an ever-changing landscape where construction leads to commissioning and finally to handover to operations
  • Must be capable of providing direct tactical and strategic support to Atlas-led projects
  • Must support project EHS efforts without direct oversight by EHS Management.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours to support construction operation.
  • Candidates must be capable of standing, sitting, climbing stairs and ladders. Must be able to frequently walk construction site perimeter and be able to occasionally lift of 25-50 lbs., as required
  • Upon completion of the construction phase of the project, this position would become the EHS Coordinator for the plant.

Nice To Haves

  • Project Management experience working within a Construction leadership team on a large construction project is a plus
  • First Aid Training is Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Conduct safety audits regularly to identify deficiencies and report them to the EHS Manager to find mitigation means
  • Enter data and track Safety Observations as directed by EHS Manager
  • Perform Incident Investigations, document findings and ensure investigations are closed promptly
  • Maintain records and electronic files as directed
  • Maintain a recordkeeping system for Atlas Issued Permits. These include Hot Work, Excavation, Permit Required Confined Space, Lock Out/Tag Out, Line Break, Live Electrical and all others as requested by the EHS Manager.
  • Coordinate and lead safety orientations to educate contractors on safety standards and expectations
  • Lead a safety culture with construction contractors that results in a safe work environment for everyone involved in the Project
  • Supports and provides assurance and oversight for contractors, and their subcontractors, who are working on Atlas’ site. Ensure employee', contractor', and vendor' work practices comply with OSHA, NFPA, EPA, and other regulatory agencies, and with Atlas standards and policies.
  • Other duties as assigned to ensure successful project completion.
