About The Position

Fall Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Co-op, TIMET Toronto, Ohio (Paid, with housing stipend) EHS CO-OP STUDENT SUMMARY: The EHS Co-op will be working on job assignments related to their functional environmental or safety discipline.

Requirements

  • Full-time student pursuing a Bachelor's Degree or Master’s Degree in Environmental or Safety discipline.
  • Knowledge of related environmental, health, and safety engineering practice and regulatory compliance (EPA, OSHA, NFPA, ANSI. Etc.).
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Visio

Responsibilities

  • Apply EHS principles that he or she has learned in school to hands-on situations.
  • Work with the hourly workforce to address day-to-day safety concerns.
  • Create Department Hazard Maps.
  • Review Environmental / Safety Policies, Procedures, and Programs.
  • Perform Respirator Fit Testing.
  • Perform Plant-wide Hearing Conservation Survey.
  • Gather / Research Safety Data for the Safety Department.
  • Conduct Confined Space Entry Evaluations.
  • Perform Job Safety Analyses (JSA) for various processes and task.
  • Work on various environmental projects.
  • Attend safety training sessions and other appropriate educational opportunities (e.g., Jefferson County Safety Council Luncheon, Emergency Response & Fire Brigade, etc.).
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Perform daily safety inspections
  • Bring safety concerns to the Safety Department
