About The Position

EHR Support Specialist provides technical support to the EHR (electronic health record) system users via phone, remote access, video and/or in-person. Identifies, researches, and resolves technical problems and refers unresolved issues to the Supervisor and/or vendor as needed. Will assist with training end-users on the EHR. Must be self-directed and able to work autonomously in a professional and productive manner. Will require travel 1-2 days a week. Will mostly be at one center location. Will assist and support system upgrades and implementations by education end-users.

Requirements

  • Required Education: High School Diploma or GED
  • Required Experience: 2 years of experience in a healthcare field and working with an EHR application
  • Knowledge Experience with EHR systems is required.
  • Understanding of basic healthcare operations and structure is required.
  • Skills: Able to demonstrate beginner to intermediate Microsoft Office Skills with clinical software programs/applications is required
  • Skills and experience prioritizing multiple projects and objectives.
  • Ability to communicate in multiple ways, effectively and adjust communication style to fit the needs of the end-user

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred Education: Associate’s Degree in related field
  • Experience in providing instruction/training to adult learners, is strongly preferred.
  • Understanding and basic knowledge of medical terminology is strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with a variety of end-users, including clinic staff, physicians, management and vendors, is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Answer application functionality questions from managers and clinical staff. Being able to assist over the phone, video or in person.
  • Create and maintain user accounts in the EHR.
  • Create and modify specific sections in the EHR (Immunizations, flowsheets, orders, etc..).
  • Assist and support system implementations by educating end-users.
  • Understands clinical workflows and how they fit into the end-users daily tasks, including the ability to troubleshoot workflow issues.
  • Provide input to the Supervisor and acts as a liaison with clinical departments to identify, improve and maintain effective training experiences.
  • Maintain clinical knowledge through a variety of methods, including observation of clinical workflows and clinical documentation with various departments.
  • Provide user education and support related to the EHR.
  • Train in multi-style settings (classroom, one-on-one, on-site).
  • Ability to change training style to meet the needs of the trainee(s).
  • Assist with testing EHR software prior to deploying new software or updates to current software.
  • Work independently on special EHR related projects.
  • Adhere to RMHCS organizational and department-specific safety, confidentiality, values, policies and standards.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
