Opportunities include participating in the design review of the R&D facility, environmental permit application preparation (air and water emissions, waste management, chemical), chemical management program development, emergency preparedness, and construction safety assurance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field. Master’s degree or related work experience preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 5 years and a Master’s degree.
  • Senior‑level experience in EHS within manufacturing, semiconductor, R&D, industrial, or high‑hazard environments.
  • Expertise in design safety and chemical management programs.
  • Working-level knowledge of environmental permitting.
  • Understanding of regulatory frameworks (OSHA, EPA, NFPA, IBC/IFC, etc.).
  • The ability to think strategically, act decisively, and lead with integrity.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate, influence, and drive results.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Expert understanding of safety processes, hazard identification and environmental permitting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to influence and establish clarity with complex content, in front of peers and leaders.
  • Self-motivated and requires little supervision to achieve planned results.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as the EHS authority for multidisciplinary design reviews across new construction, modernization, and process expansions.
  • Performs evaluations and partners with program managers and technical leaders to ensure designs meet or exceed global EHS standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Integrates safety into engineering decisions through hazard‑risk assessments, PHA/HAZOP participation, and lifecycle safety planning.
  • Supports environmental and health‑related permitting for air emissions, wastewater, chemical storage, and waste disposal.
  • Leads the Chemical Safety Program, including chemical handling, storage, segregation, disposal, and approval processes.
  • Partners with R&D, operations, and supply chain to develop safe and sustainable processes.
  • Leads and supports incident investigations, root‑cause analysis, and follow‑up verification of corrective actions.
  • Provides governance and oversight for large‑scale construction projects and contractors.
  • Promotes a strong field safety culture through inspections, readiness reviews, and alignment with Construction Safety Management Plans.
  • Assesses equipment readiness for the R&D facility and collaborates with project teams and contractors to drive incident prevention and continuous improvement.
