About The Position

Reporting directly to the EH&S Manager, the EHS Coordinator role will work to create and enforce a culture of safety within our organization and will work closely with the local leadership teams to implement programs, policies, and assessments to ensure all employees follow all federal and internal environmental, health and safety regulations. They may also review reports and findings to monitor performance and detect trends related to health and safety. The candidate should be familiar with the following regulatory programs such as PPE, Electrical Safety, Lockout/Tag out, Machine Guarding, Forklift, Hazard Communication and other programs as the need arises.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of professional safety experience in the field as a Safety Professional, preferably in a manufacturing environment, or bachelor’s degree in a safety discipline.
  • Basic math/statistical skills
  • Working knowledge of Federal/State regulatory requirements (OSHA, DOT, EPA).
  • Must be proficient in use of Microsoft office suite.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal communication and time management skills.
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed to meet schedule deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a daily presence in the functional work areas to observe operations and to assist employees with safe operations.
  • Conduct inspections and audits to ensure compliance with company programs and federal/state occupational safety and health regulations.
  • Perform incident investigations and assist in corrective actions.
  • Conduct job hazard analysis and recommend preventative/corrective action where hazards exist.
  • Interact with internal and external partners to assist with issues.
  • Develop and deliver training to employees on EHS programs, including new employee orientation.
  • Accurately maintain EHS records and data using current software management program.
  • Develop and support implementation of various safety policies and programs.
  • Assists as necessary in implementation of a hazard communication program and preparation of reports.
  • Manage Hazardous Waste (waste profiles, and coordinate disposal)
  • Provide daily guidance and direction in EHS programs at the employee / supervisor level to ensure a common and effective approach.
  • Serve as chair on safety committees/councils
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
