Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one year of experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
• Ability to calculate hours of service, complete logbook pages and calculate report hours worked.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Must have a Class-A CDL Driver’s License.
• Must have no major driving violations and be able to pass a D.O.T. physical and drug test.

Responsibilities

• Drives a truck to transport chicken feed from the feed mill to the breeder farms.
• Picks up tickets from the dispatcher.
• Loads the feed into the trailer.
• Weighs the feed.
• Operates a hydraulic system to unload the feed into the bins at the farms.
• Maintains truck log, according to state and federal regulations.
• Inspects truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil and water.
• Must comply with all DOT and State driver training and documentation requirements.
