Position: Chick Haul Driver Location: Heavener, OK Schedule: M-F    Shift: 1st    Hours: Vary Summary    Drives truck to transport chicks to and from specified destinations by performing the following duties.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to calculate hours of service, complete log book pages and calculate and report hours worked.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Must have a Class-A CDL Drivers License.
  • Must have 18 months verifiable driving experience.
  • Must have no major driving violations and be able to pass a D.O.T. physical and drug test.
  • Must pass all requirements to be a PIE (powdered industrial equipment) operator.

Responsibilities

  • Drives truck to and from broiler farms.
  • Maintains truck log, according to state and federal regulations.
  • Drives a forklift to load and unload truck.
  • Inspect truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil and water.
  • Performs emergency roadside repairs such as changing tires, installing light bulbs, tire chains, and spark plugs.
  • Must comply with all DOT and State driver training and documentation requirements.
