About The Position

DecisionPoint seeks an EFMP System Architect (Journeyman) to architect and support the Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP) application ecosystem under the MODES III contract. This role supports Task 3 IT and Systems Engineering services by designing, integrating, and governing EFMP web applications, mobile applications, tools, and supporting services hosted within AWS GovCloud. The EFMP System Architect ensures system architectures are scalable, secure, compliant, and aligned with MC&FP enterprise standards. This position partners closely with developers, security teams, and digital experience leadership to ensure EFMP platforms meet mission, user, and compliance requirements. Requirements

  • Candidate must possess a Tier 3 Moderate Risk Public Trust or an active Secret clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience designing or architecting software systems.
  • Experience architecting applications hosted in cloud environments.
  • Experience supporting web and mobile application architectures.
  • Experience architecting applications in AWS GovCloud or comparable cloud environments.
  • Strong understanding of software architecture patterns and best practices.
  • Knowledge of security controls, identity management, and secure application design.
  • Experience supporting DevSecOps pipelines and modern development practices.
  • CompTIA Security+
  • Strong system architecture and technical design skills.
  • Ability to translate mission requirements into technical solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to collaborate across development, security, and operations teams.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage complexity in enterprise scale systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting federal or DoD systems preferred.
  • Experience supporting mission critical or public facing systems.
  • Familiarity with mobile application architectures.
  • Experience integrating third party services and APIs.
  • AWS cloud certifications

Responsibilities

  • Architect EFMP web applications, mobile applications, tools, and websites within AWS GovCloud.
  • Design scalable, secure, and resilient system architectures aligned with MC&FP enterprise standards.
  • Define application architecture patterns, interfaces, and integration approaches.
  • Collaborate with development teams to translate architectural designs into implementation plans.
  • Partner with cybersecurity teams to ensure architectures meet security and compliance requirements.
  • Support cloud architecture design including networking, identity, logging, and monitoring.
  • Review and guide system designs to ensure performance, reliability, and maintainability.
  • Support development of architecture documentation, diagrams, and technical standards.
  • Identify architectural risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Support system modernization, enhancement, and integration initiatives.
  • Ensure alignment with DevSecOps and cloud best practices.
  • Support continuous improvement of EFMP system architecture and technical governance.
