About The Position

As an EEG Tech, you will perform diagnostic Electroencephalography, seizure monitoring, and evoked potential recordings of the brain or central nervous system per physician orders and established protocols. Every day you will prepare patients, ensure a safe testing environment, execute studies, observe and document results, and monitor equipment, all under direct healthcare provider supervision. To be successful, you will possess thorough knowledge of EEG equipment, continuously update your skills, and actively participate in quality assurance programs to uphold diagnostic accuracy and patient safety. Asesses patient prior to performing procedure. Ensures there is a written order prior to performing the procedure. Obtains pertinent clinical information prior to the exam and reviews comparision and complimentary procedure or reports when available. Provides pre and post procedural education and/or information to patients undergoing EEGs. Assists physicians in performing Neurodiagnostic studies. Calibrates all EEG and any support equipment for the exam.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or equivalent.
  • Current or planned enrollment into an Associates of Arts (AA) or Associates of Science (AS) degree program. and 2 years of clinical, patient care experience in the healthcare field., upon hire or High School GED, upon hire
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire

  • Persons without an associate degree or RPSGT Certificate will be required to obtain EEG credential as a Registered Electroencephalographic Technologist (R.EEGT) by the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists (ABRET) within 1 year of obtaining their AA or AS.
  • Persons with an associate degree or RPSGT Certificate will be required to obtain EEG credential as a Registered Electroencephalographic Technologist (R.EEGT) by the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists (ABRET)
