Performs routine and complex electroencephalograms on adult patients.
Requirements
Associate degree in END or completion of accredited program for END technologist required within 90 days of hire.
Maintains current BLS/HealthCare Provider Certification.
One (1) year of experience.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) required.
Responsibilities
Performs evoked potentials (BAER, VEP, SEP) on both in and out patients.
Performs specialized recordings and monitoring of physiological phenomena.
Competent in gathering and analyzing patient information.
Performs patient care in advanced role under department supervisor.
Maintains accurate and precise documentation.
Communicates openly and effectively with all team members.
Effectively educates the patient and family.
Ability to prepare and calibrate equipment for testing and able to troubleshoot.
Documents and reports routine observations, including sleep stages and clinical events, changes in procedure and able to score and understand polysomnographic results.
Verifies integrity of collected data and complete the collection process (e.g. repeats physiological and instrumental calibrations and instruct patient/parent on completing questionnaires, etc.)
Maintains compliance within field and remains current with new techniques.
Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
