RESPONSABILITIES : 1. Ability to use computerized equipment to perform EEGs. 2. Obtains patient's medical history from chart and patient; documents patient information on EEG flowsheet. 3. Demonstrates the ability to place electrodes on the patient's scalp in the designated areas. 4. Demonstrates the ability to monitor and interrupt test results in order to make changes or adjustments as needed by the physician. 5. Responsible for recording and labeling test results; sends test results to ordering physician; files all test results according to policy and procedure. 6. Maintains a daily log of all procedures performed. 7. Operates equipment safely and correctly; performs preventative maintenance; reports all malfunctions. 8. Interacts professionally with patients and/or families; treats patients and families with respect. 9. Provides care appropriate to condition and age of patient, neonate through geriatric population. 10. Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors. 11. Notifies appropriate licensed personnel when patient complains of pain. 12. Educates patient and family about procedure performed. 13. Communicates appropriately and clearly to coworkers, physicians and patients. 14. Maintains a good working relationship within the department and with other departments. 15. Demonstrates the ability to be flexible, organized and function under stressful situations. 16. Documentation meets current standards and policies. 17. Demonstrates the ability and willingness to orient new staff members. 18. Uses the principles of AIDET in every customer encounter 19. Performs other duties as assigned.
