About The Position

Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled EEG Technician for a 13 week travel assignment in Fort Dodge, IA. An EEG technician is a neurodiagnostic technologist who specializes in running electroencephalogram (EEG) tests, which are used to monitor brain activity and assist in diagnosing neurological disorders.

Requirements

  • One year's recent experience as an EEG Technician required
  • Current BLS certification ( AHA/ARC )
  • Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills
  • The ability to read, write, & communicate in the English language is required
  • Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills
  • Physical Abilities - Remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50-100lbs), pushing, pulling, bending
  • Interpersonal Skills - To work effectively with a variety of personnel (professional and ancillary) to present a positive attitude and professionalism
  • Technical/Motor Skills - Ability to grasp, fine manipulation, pushing/pulling and able to move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment.
  • Mental Requirements - Must be able to cope with frequent contact with the general public, customers, and meeting deadlines under pressure. Must be able to work under close supervision occasionally as well as working without assistance from other personnel. Must be able to contend with irregular activity schedules occasionally and continuous concentration to detail
  • Sensory - Visual acuity, ability to effectively communicate.

Responsibilities

  • Performs routine and advanced EEG procedures to obtain information for physician diagnosis of neurological and nervous system disorders
  • Gather and document patient medical history to include neurologic symptomatology and medications to guide the diagnostic process.
  • Educate patients and family members on test procedures to ensure understanding.
  • Monitors and adjusts EEG equipment to ensure optimal recordings
  • Assess and document EEG recordings
  • Complete all documentation and report preparation in an accurate and timely manner per established guidelines ensuring reports meet established guidelines for accuracy and completeness
  • Maintain work environment, supplies, and equipment per established guidelines
  • Maintain current knowledge of trends, regulation, equipment, policies and procedures pertaining to functional area
  • Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice
