The Department of Rehabilitation Therapies at the University of Iowa Health Medical Center is seeking a staff Educator to plan and implement academic and therapeutic instruction and document student progress. This position entails working on an inpatient psychiatric unit with children and adolescent patients with a mental health diagnosis. Provide quality patient care as a certified teacher including standardized assessment, lesson preparation, individual and small group academic instruction, and therapeutic instruction Record data on the status and progress of patients every day they participate in educational activities and on transactions with their community schools, parents, and professionals Exhibit a commitment to quality/process improvement Perform routine and assigned administrative tasks efficiently Demonstrate a practical yet innovative approach to solving problems Exhibit personal and professional behavior of the highest quality Adhere to all department clinical and professional standards Seek opportunities to enhance one’s own professional knowledge, skills, and abilities as they relate to one’s current position and/or to prepare for potential future roles and overall career development Perform special projects and tasks as assigned Percent of Time: 100% Pay Grade: 07 https://hr.uiowa.edu/pay/pay-plans/seiu-pay-plan Type of Position: Regular full-time position during academic school year.
