Charles R. Drew University is located in the Watts-Willowbrook area of south Los Angeles and was founded in 1966 in the wake of the Watts uprising. CDU was founded to address inadequate medical care in the region and to provide equitable medical education opportunities for under-represented students. CDU offers the only historically black Doctor of Medicine program west of the Mississippi, and is strongly invested in the local and regional community. The university leads multiple partnerships and programs to provide equitable healthcare resources in a variety of south Los Angeles neighborhoods. Reporting to the Senior Director for Academic Computing, the Educational Technology Supervisor leads the planning, operation, and support of campus learning environments, instructional systems, and AV services. This role oversees technology across classrooms, conference rooms, teaching labs, and public computing spaces, and manages system administration for cloudâbased instructional tools, including Blackboard and integrated digital learning systems. The Supervisor collaborates with instructional support staff to develop and deliver faculty and student training, supervises Educational Technology Specialists, and serves as the technical expert for AV and classroom systems—primarily Crestron. The position also guides the design, implementation, and ongoing improvement of campuswide educational technology systems, ensuring alignment with current and emerging learning technologies.
