About The Position

The building substitute paraeducator serves as building substitute in the absence of a classroom teacher; provides support to classroom teachers and office staff when not substituting; performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree required
• Knowledge of general concepts of child growth, development, and instruction
• flexibility to adapt to varying school settings, schedules and classrooms
• ability to work well with staff and students
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle detailed work
• Familiarity with computerized systems
• Must possess a flexible nature, strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills, and have the ability to work effectively with diverse groups, including students and adults.

Nice To Haves

• CT Teaching Certification preferred
