About The Position

Position Available: December 15, 2025- January 23, 2026 for school days in session. Salary and Benefits: In accordance with the support staff collective bargaining unit agreement. $18.00/hour No benefits. Schedule: This is a split position between Samuel Staples Elementary School and Helen Keller Middle School working under the direction of the Multi-Language Learner teacher.

Requirements

• College degree OR high school diploma with evidence of having passed the ParaPro exam
• Experience working with young children and adolescents ranging in grade levels from kindergarten to grade 8.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of a language other than English

Responsibilities

• Ability to work directly with students from grades kindergarten to grade 8 who are learning to speak English, with oversight provided by the Multilingual Learner teacher.
• Supporting students in varying stages of English language acquisition.
• Ability to work with students one-on-one or in small group settings
• Ability to communicate with and relate well to young children and adolescents
• Good organizational skills
• Flexibility
• Good interpersonal skills
• Sense of humor
