Special education paraprofessionals assist students with special needs under the direction of a certified teacher. The special education paraprofessional assists the teacher in general daily classroom activities, help special needs students, and cares for their physical, emotional health and safety, affirming their abilities, and striving to promote dignity in all relationships. They teach small groups of students by providing support for the essential skills for learning. Paraeducators assist with core academics, executive functioning skills, and student care. Paraeducators have the unique opportunity to contribute to positive educational outcomes by working as part of the outstanding team dedicated to educating our students. Location: All Schools within the District Nestled in the hills of Northwestern CT, Region 10 serves the towns of Harwinton and Burlington and is bordered by Farmington, Bristol, Litchfield, and Torrington.
