This temporary position is located in Rocky Mount - Nash County. Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay: $25.63 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application). This temporary position will be assigned to the Department of Health and Human Services. This position is located at 141 Storage Road, Rocky Mount, NC. NC DHHS Division of Public Health – Rocky Mount Children’s Developmental Services Agency (CSDA) is seeking a full- time Educational Diagnostician to provide eligibility evaluations for children referred to the NC Infant-Toddler Program. The selected candidate will be needed to assist with meeting timelines.

Requirements

  • General knowledge of classroom techniques and academic activities at each educational level.
  • Considerable knowledge of educational measurements for children with special learning problems.
  • Considerable knowledge of the principles, theories, and practices of psychology as applied to children with special problems.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment in interpreting tests and appraising children's activities thus making sound recommendations and decisions.
  • Ability to prepare concise narrative summaries on diagnostic findings and to interpret findings to staff planning conferences.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with children, as well as professionals.
  • Master's degree in special education or psychology from an appropriately accredited institution; or Bachelor’s degree in special education or psychology from an appropriately accredited institution, and two years of experience as a school psychologist; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
