About The Position

The Amherst Public Schools District is currently seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Special Education Team Leader (ETL) for the Amethyst Brook Elementary School for 2026-2027. Qualified candidates will possess the following experiences, training, and skills that are consistent with the overall position responsibilities but not limited to them. Effective facilitate and chair IEP meetings (Initial, Annual, Re-Evaluation, Reconvene) Work in collaboration with and support the special education administrative assistant around scheduling meetings that meet or exceed district, state and federal time lines Complete mandatory documentation paperwork before, during and after IEP meetings Oversee school based compliance with local, state and federal regulation and practices under the direction and supervision of building administration Support staff in the development of Individualized Educational Plans Engage and partner with caregivers involved in the IEP Team process Routinely communicate and collaboration with special education staff staff /administration involved in the special education process Maintain routine contact with the Student Services Office and attend districtwide ETL meetings Attend district-wide trainings and school based resource team meetings Experience developing Individualized Educational Plans Experience with culturally diverse populations Strong interpersonal and leadership skills Excellent communication, written expression and organizational skills Demonstrated experience working with and implementing the special education evaluation process, parents’ rights, and current Massachusetts special education law and regulations

  • Demonstrated experience working with and implementing the special education evaluation process, parents’ rights, and current Massachusetts special education law and regulations
  • Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Special Education certification as a Special Education Teacher

Responsibilities
