About The Position

The education support services (ESS) assistant provides administrative, compliance, and programmatic support to ensure the effective delivery of services across health, inclusion, behavioral health and wellness, and family engagement within the organization’s Early Learning and School-age programs. This is a temporary, non-benefited position with an expected duration of two to six months.

Requirements

  • Computer skills, including a command of Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
  • General clerical and data entry experience
  • Ability to type 40 words per minute with minimal errors
  • Must have strong attention to detail and effective organizational skills
  • Ability to correctly and effectively communicate in written and oral English
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with sensitivity to the unique needs of families and children, including those with special needs or who are at risk
  • Ability to adapt to changing demands and workload
  • Experience working with diverse, low-income populations

Nice To Haves

  • A California driver’s license, daily use of an automobile, and automobile liability insurance (preferred)
  • Experience and/or training in state- and federally funded children’s programs, with particular focus on eligibility and need requirements (preferred)
  • Command of Spanish, Cantonese, Mandarin, or Vietnamese (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining current knowledge of IEPs/IFSPs, immunization requirements, educational and behavioral health screenings, and compliance documentation
  • Assisting with accurate and timely data entry, documentation tracking, and record maintenance
  • Preparing and maintaining compliance reports (ASQ deadlines, health timelines, referral tracking, etc.)
  • Collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to support coordinated service delivery
  • Serving as a resource for program staff, consultants, and administrators
  • Performing clerical and administrative tasks, including scheduling, communication, filing, and database updates
  • Supporting recruitment and enrollment efforts to ensure full enrollment
  • Participating in required trainings, meetings, and professional development activities
  • Implementing and upholding organizational policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
  • Reading and implementing all organization and program policies and procedures
  • Attending training as required
  • Performing other duties as assigned
