About The Position

The Education Coordinator develops, implements, and evaluates a comprehensive program focusing on specific health education needs of a target population. The Education Coordinator collaborates with committees, leadership, and medical staff. Creates a climate and structure supportive of development and continuous learning of system-wide target populations.

Requirements

  • Has completed the basic professional curricula of a school of nursing as approved and verified by a state board of nursing, and holds or is entitled to hold a diploma or degree therefrom.
  • Bachelor's of Science in Nursing required.
  • Valid multi-state or State of Oklahoma Registered Nurse License.
  • 3 - 4 years related experience.
  • Requires working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database and presentation applications.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work in an effective and efficient manner.
  • Effective interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated skills in teaching and planning learning.
  • Demonstrates skills in leadership, professional accountability, advocacy, relationship management, and networking.
  • Utilizes strong communication, interpersonal, customer service, and time management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assesses, develops, implements, and evaluates educational programs, utilizing principles of adult learning and critical thinking, to meet needs of specific target populations based upon best practice.
  • Plans education needs based on quality improvement and risk management data, requirements of regulatory and accrediting bodies, the performance goals of the facility, and feedback from staff and management.
  • Assists others with class preparation.
  • Collaborates with professional staff within specified target population to meet identified needs and maintains efficient utilization of resources.
  • Directs activities for assigned target population and evaluates outcomes.
  • Participates in and serves as a resource for professional practice within the health system and the community.
  • Reviews research on a collaborative and/or independent basis.
  • Monitors budget and productivity for areas of responsibility.
  • Assists and determines appropriate allocation of resources to support programs.
