About The Position

Hennepin District Court invites qualified applicants for the Education Program Specialist position with Inclusion & Development (I&D) Division. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating employee education programs from the early planning stages to program delivery and completion, updating and maintaining judicial and employee education participant rosters and continuing education credits.

Requirements

  • Any combination of training and work experience which indicates possession of the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below. Examples of acceptable qualifications for this position are:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university plus 1 years’ experience in the development and implementation of education programs
  • Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university plus 3 years’ experience in the development and implementation of education programs
  • High school degree plus 5 years’ experience in the development and implementation of education programs
  • Knowledge of the basic principles of adult education, training, and employee development.
  • Knowledge of modern techniques and best practices in learning and development.
  • Knowledge of, and ability to use learning management systems (LMS), eLearning tools, mobile learning applications, and virtual collaboration platforms.
  • Ability to apply and provide content matter expertise to training initiatives.
  • Ability to design, organize, conduct and evaluate both in-person and virtual training/continuing education programs in support of organization-wide initiatives.
  • Ability to conduct training needs assessments to identify knowledge gaps and performance issues.
  • Ability to assess, recommend, and implement various training policies and procedures, and initiate program improvements.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, demands, and deadlines, using initiative and independent judgement.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, teach and create learning opportunities.
  • Ability to set up and operate computers, projectors, and other training equipment and tools.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with administrators, division heads, judges, court employees, supervisors, subordinates, other governmental and private organizations, and the public.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience administering a Learning Management System (LMS), managing continuing education credits and compliance tracking for licensed professionals such as CLE, CEU, or judicial education credits.
  • Experience in instructional design, including development of eLearning modules using authoring software.
  • Experience using content management or workflow design software.
  • Experience facilitating both in-person and virtual training sessions for diverse audiences.
  • Certification in adult learning or training, (e.g., ATD, CPTD, instructional design certificate, or similar credential).
  • Possession of a bachelor’s degree in education, organizational development, or similar program

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates logistics for employee education programs such as New Employee Orientation and other events to include registration setup, facilitation and presentation, documentation, food and beverage orders, etc. Monitors logistics and details to foresee and prevent potential problems on event day.
  • Provides participants with real-time support for logistical issues during program sessions, and reports attendance compliance to Inclusion & Development Manager.
  • Collaborates with leaders to assess and align educational needs with the strategic goals of the organization through analysis, planning, and direct engagement with teams.
  • Administers and supports the Learning Management System (LMS) and Learning platforms to ensure functionality and accessibility. Manages and updates SharePoint and documents to maintain current, accessible information. Ensures seamless platform operation and user support. Educates users on the platform and provides recommendations on available trainings and best practices.
  • Advises court staff and committees in planning training and development programs. Ensures programming and faculty development meets accrediting norms and principles of adult education.
  • Coordinates work with other divisions in State Court Administration and/or the assigned district(s). May consult with other technical staff on court applications, technical updates, user manuals, etc.
  • Assists in changing management functions, communicating with staff during transitions, and ensuring they understand their role during the process. Provides staff with resources for ongoing support.
  • May contribute to project teams for the development of new systems/applications
  • Performs work of a similar nature as assigned
