About The Position

Responsible for the education of specific audience as related to specialty. Responsible to teach/instruct using appropriate and approved curriculum for specific audience. Posting Specifics Pay Rate: Based on Experience Shift Details: PRN position PRN on-call position to teach Super Sitter Safety classes at Logan Regional Hospital. Classes are taught on Saturday mornings once or twice a month (February – November), and one or two weekday mornings a month during the Summer months. Additional Details: Caregiver will be employed under Community Education Services at McKay Dee Hospital but will sub at and teach scheduled classes at Logan Regional Hospital. Caregiver will be required to attend one yearly training/staff meeting held at McKay Dee Hospital. Ability to enthusiastically manage a classroom of children ages 9-15 and teach the Super Sitter Safety curriculum – CPR Certification training (will be provided).

Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to instruct others.
  • Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Six months previous healthcare field experience.

Nice To Haves

  • As applicable: BLS Certification - or - Childbirth Educator Instructor Certification - or - First Aid Instructor Certification - or - Fitness Instructor Certification Hearing/Listening, Speaking.

Responsibilities

  • Teaches approved curriculum and reviews/revises as appropriate.
  • Keeps materials up-to-date and adequately stocked.
  • Maintains material and supplies, cleaning as necessary and storing appropriately.
  • Organizes meeting space and meeting set-up needs.
  • Completes all tracking/monitoring documentation as needed.
  • Reviews evaluation forms and other feedback and responds appropriately to improve the program.
  • Works with their supervisor to do an overall course review and make appropriate revisions to the curriculum and class materials at appropriate intervals and whenever requested.
  • Arrives promptly including time for room and audiovisual preparation prior to classes.
  • Comes well prepared to teach each session.
