About The Position

In an environment of continuous quality improvement, the Education Coordinator is responsible for education Services of the assigned department/ unit. Exhibits the MHS Standards of Excellence and exercises strict confidentiality at all times.

Requirements

  • BLS required upon hire.
  • Current Licensure in the State of Ohio as a Registered Nurse with a bachelor’s degree in nursing or relevant field or currently pursuing is required.
  • High School Diploma/GED in lieu of degree required.
  • Maintains compliance in RQI required.
  • Verbal and written communication skills, especially ability to provide critical feedback
  • Computer literacy – working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • ability to use office equipment such as copiers, scanners, printers.

Nice To Haves

  • Clinical education experience preferred.
  • At least 2 years of acute care nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assesses, develops, and coordinates education for staff on equipment, new procedures and identified educational needs using a variety of instructional methods and engaging activities.
  • Responsible in conjunction with the Education Specialists for new employee orientation classes.
  • Responsible in conjunction with Education Specialists for development and preparation of validation of skills and competence.
  • Responsible in conjunction with the Education Specialist for initial and ongoing education of a preceptor program and ongoing support of preceptors.
  • Works cooperatively with Education Specialists and as a consultant to leaders to ensure consistency and efficiency of educational system, including record keeping, assigning classes, skill assessment, and education course development, including identification & inclusion of specialist for contact hours.
  • Teach course(s) in their specialty and/or AHA course(s). Maintain standards for AHA and certifications.
  • Assumes all other duties and responsibilities as necessary.
