About The Position

Students, staff, and families are empowered to be civically engaged and make positive change by addressing local, national, and global issues. Role: The Education Coordinator manages the early learning center’s overall classroom environment, including monitoring teacher curriculum planning and implementation, and overseeing teacher-student interactions. This role is responsible for completing student screening and assessments, tracking overall student outcomes, and ensuring the home-school connection and the IEP/IFSP process are completed. The Education Coordinator supervises teacher professional development plans, mental health observations, and training. In collaboration with the Site Director, the Education Coordinator supports the teaching team, strengthens ITAV educational pathways, and ensures alignment across all sites.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field.
  • Currently has a Level I Director’s Credential
  • 2+ years of experience working in education. Experience in program coordination or management is also beneficial.
  • You are a passionate advocate for educational equity, deeply committed to advancing social justice through transformative educational practices.
  • You have a strong understanding of educational principles, curriculum development, and learning assessment methods.
  • You are a strategic thinker with a proven track record in enhancing student success and performance.
  • Your strength lies in building trusting relationships and fostering collaboration with teachers, students, and families.
  • You are a creative and dynamic problem-solver, adept at navigating complex family dynamics and addressing multifaceted challenges.
  • You are proficient in project management, including planning, organizing, and prioritizing tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with educators, subject matter experts, and administrators to develop and refine educational curricula, ensuring alignment with learning objectives, standards, and best practices.
  • Facilitate engagement and participation in educational activities by communicating with participants, promoting events, and providing necessary information and support.
  • Analyze data related to educational outcomes, participant feedback, and program effectiveness to inform decision-making and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Manage educational resources, including materials, equipment, and facilities, to ensure their availability and suitability for planned activities.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, policies, and procedures governing educational programs and activities, and maintain accurate documentation and records.
  • Coordinate the implementation of educational programs, workshops, seminars, and training sessions for the teaching team, including scheduling, logistics, and resource allocation.
  • Stay informed about current trends, research, and best practices in education and training, and participate in professional development activities to enhance knowledge and skills.
  • Serves as the second designee delegation of authority for the site and assumes responsibility for daily operations.
