About The Position

The Education and Child Protection Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation, and quality of Education and CP projects within the East Area Office. The role ensures that all activities meet technical and safeguarding standards while supporting teams to achieve targets on time. Key duties include capacity building for SCI and partner staff, ongoing performance monitoring, identifying and addressing gaps, and ensuring safe, inclusive, and child-centered programming. The position requires frequent field presence—approximately 50% of the time—to supervise implementation, provide technical support, and ensure compliance with quality and accountability requirements.

Requirements

  • Hold a minimum bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Sciences, or other related fields.
  • Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and English.
  • Have at least five years of experience in education.
  • Demonstrate a good understanding of quality education, including child-centred, inclusive, and active learning methods.
  • Possess strong planning and reporting skills.
  • Exhibit excellent MS Office skills.
  • Show excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills; a proven track record in successful coaching is an asset.
  • Understand formal and non-formal education and Education in Emergencies.
  • Analyse information, evaluate options, and plan strategically.
  • Demonstrate a proven track record in managing teams and ensuring timely and high-quality delivery of educational programmes.
  • Analyse qualitative and quantitative data and develop databases and data collection tools.
  • Commit to and understand Save the Children’s aims, values, and principles, including rights-based approaches.

Nice To Haves

  • Have experience working at the community level with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Possess prior experience as a Master Trainer and/or in capacity building or coaching of educators.
  • Have prior teaching experience.
  • Have prior experience in a similar position with a local or international NGO.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Education and Child Protection Programme Manager to plan and oversee the timely implementation of integrated education and CP projects in the Beqaa.
  • Communicate programme objectives and activity plans to SCI staff and key stakeholders by providing regular briefings, sharing detailed workplans, and clarifying roles, timelines, and expected results. This includes ensuring that education and child protection priorities, safeguarding requirements, and quality standards are clearly understood by all teams and partners, enabling consistent, coordinated, and accountable implementation across centers
  • Lead the SCI integrated education and CP team to implement quality and relevant education and CP programmes based on assessment results and in line[LH1] [CF2] with tools and guidelines developed by the PDQ team.
  • Identify areas of implementation according to field needs through outreach activities and coordination with other education actors.
  • Provide educators in SCI and partners’ learning centres with the relevant curricula, including objectives and expected learning outcomes, and ensure they follow SCI education and CP standards.
  • Contribute to donor reports and ensure that internal reporting is accurate, high-quality, and in line with SCI processes.
  • Lead the monitoring and evaluation process for integrated education and CP activities.[LH1] [CF2]
  • Feed into activity design based on lessons learned and community feedback, working closely with the PDQ team and the Education and CP Specialist.
  • Regularly visit programme sites to ensure that parents and the wider community receive appropriate support and that qualitative and quantitative programme objectives are achieved.
  • Identify staffing needs and participate in the recruitment processes for the Education and CP programme in the Beqaa region.
  • Take accountability for own and team performance and development in line with SCI’s Develop to Perform guidelines.
  • Commit to training as a Master Trainer as per programme needs and deliver Training of Trainers for SCI and partner education and CP staff, as well as trainings for field-level stakeholders, including caregivers and community members, in coordination with the CO Education Specialist.
  • Provide SCI Education and CP staff with capacity-building trainings based on performance management and identified needs.
  • Facilitate induction and training sessions and roll out capacity-building plans for SCI partners.
  • Ensure that partners accurately collect and report data according to the provided guidelines.
  • Support partner programme teams in implementing operational work plans and setting clear targets and activity plans per programme site.
  • Clearly communicate targets, programme objectives, and activity plans to partners and focal points.
  • Monitor and support compliance with implementation requirements.
  • Oversee and collaborate with partner staff to review monthly progress reports.
  • Follow up with partners on the submission of financial reports and ensure expenditures align with the agreement.
  • Support the representation of SCI in coordination meetings and forums in the Beqaa region, contributing technical inputs and advocating for children’s right to quality and inclusive education as delegated by the Manage
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with INGOs/NGOs, local governance structures, and relevant UN agencies.
  • Work closely with the PDQ team and share regular feedback on Education Programmes in the Beqaa..
  • Ensure that SCI activities are implemented in accordance with SCI policies, SCI Education Strategy, and MEHE guidelines and frameworks.
  • Comply with SCI policies and practices regarding child protection, code of conduct, health and safety, equal opportunities, and other relevant procedures.
