About The Position

Help shape the future of the welding workforce across North America! Miller Electric is seeking a strategic, relationship-driven Education Business Development Manager to expand our presence within large welding education programs across the United States and key initiatives in Canada. In this highly visible role, you will build partnerships with major Career & Technical Education (CTE) programs, community and technical colleges, and leading private trade school networks that are training the next generation of skilled welders. You’ll collaborate closely with the Education Manager, regional sales teams, and distribution partners to identify growth opportunities, support adoption of the ITW product portfolio, and strengthen Miller Electric’s position as a trusted partner in welding education. This role focuses on large, strategic education accounts — including multi-campus institutions and national trade school networks — while local and smaller programs are supported by regional sales teams.

Requirements

  • 5–8 years of experience in business development, industry partnerships, or education engagement
  • Background in welding, manufacturing, or technical education
  • Experience supporting equipment sales in a consultative or technical environment
  • Proven ability to build long-term strategic relationships
  • Experience managing pipeline and opportunities in CRM systems
  • Familiarity working with CTE programs, community colleges, or private trade schools
  • Willingness to travel approximately 40–60% annually

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Education, Engineering, or a related field (Preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Drive Strategic Growth in Welding Education
  • Build and expand relationships with major welding education programs across community colleges, technical colleges, and national trade schools
  • Focus on high-impact institutions with significant welding lab capacity (typically 150+ arc welding stations) or regional program influence
  • Develop trusted partnerships with instructors, program directors, and institutional leaders responsible for curriculum and equipment decisions
  • Identify and advance opportunities to increase adoption of Miller equipment and solutions
  • Lead Engagement with National Education Networks
  • Support relationships with large multi-campus training organizations such as Tulsa Welding School and Lincoln Tech
  • Represent Miller Electric at national and regional workforce development and education events including SkillsUSA, Association for Career and Technical Education, American Association of Community Colleges, and other key associations
  • Partner with regional sales teams to coordinate engagement with institutions operating across multiple territories
  • Provide Market Insight & Enable Internal Success
  • Monitor trends in welding education, program expansion, and workforce development initiatives
  • Share market intelligence with leadership and sales teams to communicate strategy and support growth
  • Maintain accurate pipeline visibility and institutional relationship tracking within CRM systems
  • Highlight education-driven opportunities that can accelerate regional sales success
