The mission of the Education and Community Engagement Division is to plan, organize, and conduct outreach programs and materials that are informative and accessible with the aim to improve the health and well-being of Boston residents. The program aims to reduce the risk of illness and promote health through education awareness initiatives that may include social marketing campaigns, developing educational materials, and directing trainings to various community groups and healthcare workers. The Education and Community Engagement Intern will be involved in a variety of activities related to infectious diseases that continues to affect the residents of Boston, including respiratory illnesses, sexually transmitted illnesses, vector-borne illnesses, ect. The project will involve time spent developing educational materials, training and presentation curriculum development, and engagement with partners and community members during outreach events that include tabling and community presentations and trainings.
