About The Position

The EDM - Machine Operator position requires an individual to set up and operate assigned machines, perform machining operations according to specifications, and maintain production standards and quality. Responsibilities include complying with TPM and CTQ programs, solving minor setup problems, and ensuring adherence to Corporate Code of Ethical Standards and ISO-9000 quality requirements. The role involves operating and setting up computerized numerical control machines such as lasers, CNC-EDM, and CNC EDM machining centers, as well as utilizing measuring tools for part inspection. Marginal duties may include performing preventative maintenance, R&D of new programming, manual machining operations, and other facility tasks as needed. The successful candidate must possess strong communication, mathematical, and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to interpret operation sheets and use measurement tools accurately.

Requirements

  • H.S. diploma or equivalent
  • Three (3) years + experience in machining, measuring equipment and CNC EDM set-up and program editing
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Problem-solving ability
  • Ability to accurately interpret operation sheets and/or work in-process documents
  • Math and computer technology skills
  • Ability to read and use measurement tools
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English with supervisor, engineers, and co-workers
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, and decimals
  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations

Responsibilities

  • Complying with TPM (Total Preventative Maintenance) Program

  • Set up and operate assigned machine

  • Perform safety procedures and general daily housekeeping
  • Maintain production standards and quality
  • Regular attendance and punctuality
  • Adhere to and promote Corporate Code of Ethical Standards
  • Ensures compliance with Company IPM/QPM and ISO-9000 quality requirements
  • Operate and set up computerized numerical control machines: lasers CNC - EDM, CNC EDM machining centers
  • Utilize measuring tools to inspect parts
  • Perform preventative maintenance on the equipment when required
  • R&D of new programming
  • Perform manual machining operations
  • Performing other tasks in the facility, as needed
