About The Position

The Livingston Enterprise is looking for an editor to run its newsroom.

Livingston, Montana is a scenic mountain town of 8,500 residents at the head of Paradise Valley, with stunning views of local mountain ranges. Located along the Yellowstone River an hour north of Yellowstone National Park, Livingston offers world-class fishing, hiking, and skiing right at your doorstep. The town features a vibrant historic downtown with local shops, breweries, and restaurants, plus a thriving arts scene.

The editor’s focus will be growing and sustaining digital audience while continuing to serve loyal print subscribers.

In addition to digital updates to the website throughout the day, newsletter sends, social media engagement, and breaking news push notifications, there are two print editions and three E-editions (on the off-print days) produced each week.

Experience with digital platforms and social media strategy are important. The best candidates also will have a collaborative spirit and knowledge of total operation, including audience/circulation, sales and production.

Performance will be measured by subscriber growth, engagement and retention as well as the impact our content has in the community – audience reach and public service.

Requirements

• Strong English language skills, both written and verbal.
• Results driven – we are looking for accountable success.
• Interpersonal skills – the ability to get along with and earn the respect of a wide variety of people at all levels of seniority.
• Community engagement experience – in person and on social networks, being a professional ambassador for the news organization in the community.
