About The Position

ANSER is seeking an Editor and Correspondence Manager to support the Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Nuclear Matters (ODASD(NM)) with correspondence management, writing, and formatting staff action packages, publications and supporting documentation prepared by senior leadership and policy analysts. This position requires onsite work at the Pentagon in Arlington, VA.

Requirements

  • Must possess a Top-Secret clearance with current SCI eligibility.
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 6+ years of experience with technical writing/editing or managing correspondence for a Federal client.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Must be able to work at the customer site in support of senior management or executives with little supervision for sustained periods.

  • Demonstrated experience working in an OSD/Joint Staff/Interagency environment.
  • Knowledgeable and experienced in DoD/OSD correspondence processes and familiarity with CATMS.
  • Ability to work individually, collaboratively, and with senior Pentagon leadership.
  • Highly organized with a demonstrated ability to multitask and deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Office of the DASD(NM) with documentation preparation, technical writing, and reviewing staff action packages and other products for clarity, consistency, formatting, and style.
  • Edit for adherence to executive-level unique writing styles in accordance with established Office of the Secretary Defense (OSD) formatting/standards (e.g., Department of Defense Manual 5110.04) and the proper use of military terminology.
  • Manage and track correspondence within the office, across OSD, and the interagency to include monitoring various ODASD(NM) assignments using the Correspondence and Task Management System (CATMS) to ensure timely and coordinated responses.
  • Liaise within the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Nuclear Deterrence, Chemical and Biological Defense Policy and Programs (OASD(ND-CBD)) to monitor assignments for ODASD(NM) read-aheads (RAHs). Coordinate, develop, and manage ODASD(NM) RAH package preparation.
  • Develop effective communications with all ODASD(NM) components and other OSD offices, including the OASD(ND-CBD), OUSD(A&S), and OUSD(P) Front Offices.
  • Act as the ODASD(NM) Strategic Communications Liaison and a ASD(ND-CBD) Strategic Communications Working Group representative.
