About The Position

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for an Edifecs Developer in the United States. This role offers the opportunity to design, develop, and implement healthcare EDI solutions using Edifecs tools to support mission-critical data exchange platforms. The Edifecs Developer will work closely with business and technical teams to manage, optimize, and troubleshoot EDI transaction processes, ensuring accurate data transformation and seamless integration across cloud-based systems. This position plays a key role in improving operational efficiency, compliance with HIPAA standards, and the overall reliability of healthcare data exchanges. Hands-on experience with Edifecs applications and healthcare EDI standards is essential. Remote collaboration and occasional post-implementation support are part of the role.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with 6+ years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree with 4+ years; equivalent experience or certifications may be considered
  • Hands-on experience with Edifecs applications: XEngine, SpecBuilder, Transaction Management, and Application Manager
  • Strong expertise in healthcare EDI transactions and HIPAA compliance
  • Proficiency in SQL, XML, XSLT, JavaScript, and Groovy for data transformation and validation
  • Experience integrating Edifecs with relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle) and APIs (REST, SOAP)
  • Skilled in analyzing system logs, troubleshooting errors, and optimizing XEngine performance
  • Familiarity with Agile development environments and active participation in sprints, reviews, and continuous improvement

Nice To Haves

  • experience with cloud deployments (AWS), CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and government healthcare systems

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business subject matter experts to gather and refine requirements for EDI solutions
  • Configure Edifecs tools, including XEngine, to process and validate HIPAA-compliant transactions (837, 834, 835, 270/271, 276/277, 278, etc.)
  • Design, update, and maintain EDI maps, profiles, and guidelines using SpecBuilder and MapBuilder
  • Translate business and data requirements into standardized X12 formats for inbound and outbound transactions
  • Conduct unit and integration testing, ensuring solution accuracy and reliability
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve EDI transmission issues promptly
  • Integrate Edifecs solutions with databases, APIs, and middleware to automate transaction processing
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of workflows, system configurations, and data exchange processes
  • Serve as a liaison between clients and internal technical teams for issue resolution and knowledge sharing
