About The Position

Works closely with EDA executive management to support the financial activities of the retail and non-gaming Tribal businesses. Performs daily bookkeeping functions and reconciliations with a strong understanding of accounting principles and attention to detail. Perform daily, monthly, quarterly and annual accounts reconciliation and close processes and inventory tracking in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • Minimum five (5) years bookkeeping experience; Certified Bookkeeper (CB) or QuickBooks Certified User, preferred.
  • Minimum three (3) years of multi-entity bookkeeping experience.
  • Solid time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong computer skills to include effective working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products such as Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, etc.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills are required.
  • Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Knowledge of retail-specific accounting functions to include point of sale integration, inventory, sales tax, cash flows, discounts, etc.
  • Familiarity with external audit preparation and performance.
  • Comfortable with adjusting entries for intercompany transactions and reconciliations.
  • Understanding of basic accounting internal controls.

Responsibilities

  • Document and monitor all financial transactions and code appropriately
  • Prepare general journal entries for review as needed.
  • Monitor financial data for discrepancies.
  • Prepare account reconciliations on a weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
  • Intercompany account monitoring and reconciliation.
  • Processing and monitoring payroll and sales tax compliance to Tribal, Federal and State agencies as required.
  • Ensuring timely filing of required financial reports.
  • Timely preparation of monthly financial statements.
  • External audit support.
  • Understand and comply with established appearance standards.
  • Understand and comply with the attendance policy.
  • Perform other related duties as may be assigned.
