About The Position

Our Scripps System-wide Resource Services (SSRS) department supports the entire Scripps Health system. As a member of the float team, you can fill vital roles on assignments throughout the system to provide critical coverage for employee’s leave of absences, sick calls, and peak service demands while gaining experience in a variety of environments. Join our Scripps SSRS team as an ED Tech where you will provide direct patient care within the scope of your practice. This includes the following: Supports emergency department or urgent care by performing basic emergency medical procedures as directed. Under supervision, assists nurses and physicians in the performance of their functions. Performs assessment of vital signs, thermal applications, non-sterile soaks, application of simple dressings and splints, stool and urine collection. Prepares patients for examinations/treatments including draping patients, opening sterile supplies, set up and removal of IV's. Assist in collection of patient history and ensures confidentiality of records. Cleans and prepares rooms between procedures including changing of bed linens and restocking of room supplies. May transport patients and/or provide coverage for the unit secretary. These positions are within our System-wide Float Pool and Resource Team: Float Pool: Techs self-schedule in 4-week blocks to meet shift and weekend requirements. This position helps cover all 5 campus sites and urgent care. Full time available and currently hiring to night shift only. Minimal Scheduling Requirements [we use the UKG application for self-scheduling] Part Time Position - 2 shifts per week, to include at least 2 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule Full Time Position - 3 shifts a week, to include at least 2 weekends or 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule Currently hiring Night shift only at this time.

Requirements

  • American Heart Association BLS for Health Care Provider.
  • Certified California EMT (EMT, AEMT or Paramedic) or California CNA certification.

Nice To Haves

  • One year of experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
  • Direct Patient Care experience
