About The Position

Overview Sign-on Bonus available Piedmont Henry Emergency Department 75000-90000 visits per year Licensed for 59 beds 3/4:1 Patient to RN Ratio Level III trauma center Triage and Assessment of patient complaint Medical screening exam by a qualified medical provider and treatment plan based on assessment Appropriate Drug Therapy Management of critically ill patients Patient discharge education Fully Accredited Stroke Center Recently added 18 bed Cardiac Observation Unit that works closely with ED Multidisciplinary team in the ED includes: ED MD, ED APP, ED RN, C-RN, Flow Coordinator, Unit Based Educator, RN, ED Paramedics, Patient Care Technicians, Radiology staff, Respiratory staff, Patient Experience and Patient Access. Responsibilities Coordinates the delivery of quality nursing care for patients from birth through the lifecycle, as well as operational issues during his/her shift. Provides clinical care as needed when census demands. Communicates patient care, departmental issues, and staff concerns to the appropriate leader(s). Serves as resource for guidance and assistance to the staff.

Requirements

  • Graduate from a recognized, accredited school of nursing
  • RN - Registered Nurse - Georgia State Licensure and/or NLC/eNCL Multistate Licensure
  • BCLS - Basic Life Support
  • 1 year of nursing experience in a hospital setting
  • Advanced certification in field of specialty, if applicable (see addendum)
  • ACLS Certification (Cardiac Tele, Critical Care, Surgical Services including Labor and Delivery)
  • PALS Certification (Emergency Department)
  • Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certification – prior to independent chemotherapy administration (Infusion/Oncology)
  • NRP by the end of orientation period (Women’s Services: Labor and Delivery, Mother/Baby, NICU, NAT, Nursery)
  • AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Program within 12 months of start date (Labor and Delivery) within 1 Year
  • PEARS Certification ( at Piedmont Athens Hospital)
  • PALS if unit provides care to pediatric patients (Surgical Services)
  • ACLS and PALS Certification (Emergency Department)
  • ACLS; PALS if unit provides care to pediatric patients (Surgical Services)
  • Experienced Emergency Department nurses will have 30 days to obtain the PALS certification within 30 Days

  • 2 years or more years of nursing experience in a hospital setting
