About The Position

Join our vibrant community at Tampa Catholic High School as we seek a dedicated full-time Economics and Personal Finance Instructor. Requirements

  • BA or MA in Economics, Finance, Business, Social Studies Education, or a related field (Masters degree preferred).
  • Experience teaching Economics, Personal Finance, or related social science/business courses strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to make economic concepts accessible, engaging, and relevant to high school students .
  • Experience with educational technology integration and curriculum design preferred.
  • Ability to challenge students academically while fostering a supportive and engaging classroom environment.
  • Commitment to collaboration, professional growth, and contributing to the mission of Catholic secondary education .

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and rigorous instruction in Economics and Personal Financial Literacy courses , helping students understand economic systems, markets, and responsible financial decision-making.
  • Design lessons that promote critical thinking, real-world application, and economic reasoning , connecting course content to current events and personal financial planning.
  • Utilize pedagogical best practices such as Understanding by Design, Standards-Based Assessment, and project-based learning .
  • Integrate classroom technology, including Canvas and our 1:1 iPad program , to enhance learning, collaboration, and assessment.
  • Help students develop practical skills in budgeting, saving, investing, credit management, and long-term financial planning .
  • Foster meaningful discussion on the relationship between economics, ethics, and social responsibility , including principles related to stewardship and the common good.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across departments to strengthen cross-curricular connections in business, social studies, and mathematics .
  • Participate actively in the life of the school community through professional development, faculty collaboration, and student mentorship .
