About The Position

Join our vibrant community at Tampa Catholic High School as we seek a dedicated full-time AP Chemistry Instructor. We are looking for an enthusiastic educator with a passion for science education who is committed to fostering academic excellence, critical thinking, and a love of discovery in the sciences within a faith-centered learning environment. Tampa Catholic High School offers a rigorous four-year college preparatory program to a diverse student body, welcoming both Catholic and non-Catholic students. Requirements

• BA or MA in Chemistry, Science Education, or a related field
• Experience teaching AP Chemistry or upper-level high school chemistry strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to implement lab-based instruction and scientific inquiry practices .
• Ability to challenge students academically while fostering a supportive and engaging classroom environment.
• Commitment to collaboration, professional growth, and contributing to the mission of Catholic secondary education .

Nice To Haves

• Masters degree preferred.
• Experience with educational technology integration, laboratory management, and curriculum design preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and rigorous instruction in Advanced Placement Chemistry and related science courses in alignment with College Board standards.
• Design and implement laboratory-based, inquiry-driven instruction that develops students analytical and scientific reasoning skills.
• Utilize pedagogical best practices such as Understanding by Design, Standards-Based Assessment, and data-informed instruction .
• Integrate classroom technology, including Canvas and our 1:1 iPad program , to enhance learning, collaboration, and assessment.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and effective science laboratory environment , ensuring adherence to all safety protocols.
• Collaborate with colleagues in the Science Department and across disciplines to strengthen curriculum alignment and interdisciplinary learning.
• Support Tampa Catholics mission by encouraging intellectual curiosity, ethical reflection, and respect for the relationship between faith, reason, and scientific inquiry .
• Participate actively in the life of the school community through professional development, faculty collaboration, and student support .
