About The Position

This position assists with the coordination and implementation of economic development programs, projects and services including business retention and expansion, business attraction, redevelopment opportunities, workforce development, small business assistance and others. Conducts research and analysis of local and regional trends as well as targeted research support for specific programs and/or projects as needed. Duties include, but are not limited to the following Assist Economic Development staff in the planning, execution, and monitoring of economic development projects, programs and services. Works with Arizona Commerce Authority, Greater Phoenix Economic Council, businesses and real estate professionals to provide detailed & targeted responses to business leads. . Collects, compiles and analyzes community demographic and economic data from multiple sources to facilitate effective planning and understand trends, and updates all on a regular basis. Monitors department agreements and contracts, and if necessary, identifies issues and suggests possible remedies. Conducts business retention and expansion visits and provides needed support to businesses. Assist in the development and coordination of programs, research and activities designed to contribute to the redevelopment or revitalization of targeted areas of the community. Coordinates logistics for site visits, public engagement events, community workshops, and business outreach sessions. May perform responsibilities of a similar nature and level as assigned.

Requirements

  • One (1) year of experience in business or government setting or related experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Public Administration, Communications, Marketing, Public Policy, Urban Planning, or related field.
  • A valid state driver's license
  • Applicants considered for this job classification must pass the following: Criminal history review
