About The Position

Economic Services provides services such as, Food and Nutrition Services (FNS), Family and Children’s Medicaid (FCMA), Adult Medicaid (AMA), Work First (WF) and Child Care Subsidy (CCS). The Staff Trainer ensures that consistent, high quality training curriculum is developed and implemented- participates in the analysis, design, development, and facilitation of training efforts and integrates best practices. The Economic Benefits Trainer reports directly to the Economic Services Training Supervisor. This position's primary focuses are Work First and Child Care Subsidy, and other programs focusing on departmental needs. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Three years of job-related experience
  • Equivalent education and experience are accepted
  • Ability to develop and deliver presentations, training, and ideas to individuals or groups

Nice To Haves

  • Three (3) years of experience working within Work First and/or Child Care Subsidy programs within a State or County Department of Economic Self-Sufficiency training adults using adult learning theories and practices
  • Bachelor's degree or higher level of education in a related field to the position

Responsibilities

  • Deliver training in the areas of Economic Benefits policy, technical navigation, communication, customer service, coaching, and team building
  • Design, develop deliver, and administer test, quizzes, and exams
  • Evaluate training programs (including online courses, self-study, and blended learning opportunities) for caseworkers, supervisors, and managerial staff
  • Compose a training schedule and facilitate the learning process to ensure that training is engaging, and the transfer of learning is occurring
  • Develop and update effective curricula to address identified training needs in all benefit program areas
  • Ensure that training in each program is aligned with Federal and State policies and that county policies are followed
  • Monitor staff learning, comfort, implementation, and operational needs
  • Write and communicate weekly individual status updates to the supervisors and program manager
  • Meet with staff to plan an appropriate course of action to improve individual training deficiencies
  • Communicate individual pathways progress reports to supervisors at the conclusion of training
