About The Position

The Economic and Social Services Division provides a variety of services to address the needs of Wake County citizens. We are currently seeking an enthusiastic Economic Benefits Technician to join this hard working team, and start making an impact in our community today! Currently, this position will work at the WakeMed Raleigh office on a rotating basis with 3 other Technicians. On the days not in the office, this position will work from home. Primary job duties include: Serving as receptionist for main Wake County Human Services Office at WakeMed Processing mail, faxes, documents, and emails daily, uploading into OnBase Serving as back-up to three other technicians, performing various administrative duties Exhibiting excellent customer service skills in all functions Screening patients for Medicaid and submitting applications in NCFAST NOTE: This position requires the employee to obtain an annual flu vaccine, along with maintaining current immunizations. The employee will also be required to obtain and maintain CPR certification. The employee is required to complete multiple learning modules annually to meet hospital requirements. This position requires COVID vaccination, unless an approved religious or medical exemption is obtained. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • One year of experience in human services
  • Equivalent education and experience are accepted
  • Customer service oriented with excellent communication (verbal and written), and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to utilize office equipment and other relevant technology (software and systems), to meet business needs (e.g., Microsoft Office, NC FAST, and Hyland OnBase)
  • Ability to work both, as part of a team and independently

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in OnBase or a similar electronic document management system
  • Experience in NCFAST navigation
  • Knowledge of NC Medicaid programs
  • Working knowledge of Excel
  • Ability to interpret from Spanish to English and English to Spanish
