Are you a skilled and dedicated healthcare professional looking for a rewarding opportunity? Virginia Mason Franciscan Health is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Echo Technologist to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to be a part of something special, shaping the future in our community. Provides high-quality, diagnostic cardiac ultrasound evaluations which include anatomic, physiologic, and pathologic data to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of heart disease. The work focus may include performing transthoracic, stress, and/or transesophageal echocardiograms. Additional techniques may include 3D imaging, saline contrast bubble studies, and/or the use of ultrasound enhancing agents.

Requirements

  • Graduation, or graduate-eligible, from a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Programs (CAAHEP) - accredited ultrasound program.
  • Current credentialing by ARDMS as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS), or Cardiovascular Credentialing International as a Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS).
  • Current healthcare provider BLS Certification.
  • The Non-Registered Echo Technologist is a temporary classification for employees who are not currently registered with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) at the time of hire. Employees have one year from the date of hire to obtain the requisite registration.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares patients and performs echocardiograms based on physicians’ orders.
  • Maintains proficiency and adheres to departmental protocols and procedures.
  • Provides comprehensive reports to reading providers.
  • Communicates critical information to supervising RN or reading providers.
  • In the hospital setting, participates in after hours on-call coverage.
  • Participates in on-going quality assurance required by the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC).
  • Other duties as assigned.
