About The Position

Registered Echocardiology Technologist provides diagnostic patient care services using ultrasound and related diagnostic procedures according to established policy and procedure. Uses independent judgment and systematic problem-solving methods to produce high quality diagnostic information and optimal patient care as well as other assigned duties assigned by the Cardiac and Vascular Lab Manager. Performs all required ultrasound and clinical evaluations at a technical level not requiring direct supervision. Assists the Lead Echo Technologist with the daily operations of the echocardiology laboratory and training staff as needed. Maintains a high standard of medical ethics at all times and is self-motivated to increase level of competence under the supervision of the Cardiac and Vascular Lab Manager. Uses cognitive sonographic skills to identify and record appropriate anatomical, pathological, and diagnostic images. Coordinates work schedule with lab manager to assure workload coverage. Consults with referring MD, patient chart, and/or lab manager regarding patients' history to determined appropriate lab procedure when necessary. Assists with accreditation requirements and submission of accreditation application.
